Q: Where does the name Suywen come from?
A: Suywen Wolfsbrut is the name of my fantasy roleplaying character,
a half-human-half-woodelf in the world of the german game DSA (Das Schwarze
Auge).
Q: Why do you draw?
A: Well, I like it. For me, drawing and painting is relaxing after
a hard day at work and it lifts me up when I am in dark mood. I started
doodling when I was a little child, liked drawing lessons at school and
now it is my permanent hobby.
In non-fantasy drawing and painting I like portraiture most.
Q: Why fantasy?
A: There´s nothing else where you have so many possibilities
to create whatever you want to. I have always loved fairy tales, myths
and legends in my early childhood (as every child does I think). But when
I read Tolkiens Lord of the Rings at the age of 11 I definitely fell in
love with the whole fantasy genre. Wendy Pini´s Elfquest comics also
had a high impact on me. Since then, I read alot of fantasy books, watch
films and I also used to play RPG (unfortunately not at the moment). I
just love to delve into strange and fascinating worlds.
Q: Who are your favorite artists?
A: Fine „classic“ artists: Rubens, Caravaggio, Dürer, Goya, Ingres,
Monet, Manet, Cezanne, Marc...
Fantasy artists: Brothers Hildebrandt, Royo, Elmore ...
Q: What are your favorite books?
A: There are a lot that I like but „The Lord of the Rings“ by J.R.R
Tolkien is definitely the first; the Disc world series by Terry Pratchett,
lots of fantasy books by various authors; as non-fantasy I like all books
from E.M. Remarque
Q: What are your favorite films?
A: There are also a lot; Star Wars, Lord of the Rings (though I prefer
the book!), Dragonheart, The Last Unicorn, The Thin Red Line, Gladiator,
American History X, Das Boot, Matrix, Blade Runner, One Flew over The Cuckoos
Nest, Stand by me ...
Q: Can I use your pictures privately?
A: Please write me an email and ask me first ! I am the copyright owner
so please respect that. I do not mind if you print them out and hang them
on your wall. But, for everything else as for example publishing them on
your website please ask me first. Some of the pictures were done
as commissioned pieces and I cannot allow you to use them in any way. For
the others: as long as it is non-profit, I usually give permission for
private use, but please follow some rules: (1) Do not modify my pictures
(2) You must add „copyright Trixi Leistner“ to the page where you
display my pictures.
Q: Can I use your pictures commercially?
A: Definitely not!
Q: Will you draw a RPG character for me ?
A: Not for free, I am sorry. For a basic price list, please email me.
Q: Your english is so bad, please correct it!
A: As I mentioned, I´m no native speaker. Please email me about
language mistakes so that I can correct them.
